Thoughts

A long and busy life... Grandpa was active, and was still going into "the office" (AGThomas Bradford Ltd) a couple of days a week well into his 90's. He was annoyed in his late 80's at not being able to continue mixing concrete and building paths and digging the veg beds up at the farm, and used to joke that he went in to work 'for a rest'. It is a common question we 'youngsters' (at 50!) still make the mistake of asking - "How are you today?" Never one for moaning, the reply would invariably be "I'm still here!" He always kept us on our toes, and I used to tell people - "Oh, he still has all his marbles (and probably some of ours too!)" - Ruth Jennaway (grand-daughter)

Grampa....a gentle giant, with a huge heart and a cheeky smile. I have many fond memories of being at the farm - boxing day dinners with all the family, and exciting bonfire nights were firm favourites too. After every visit Grampa would always send us away with homemade jams, fruits, fresh juice and anything else he could find! Family dinners and gatherings were a favourite of Grampa's as he always had to get a bottle of the 'good stuff' out to accompany our meal. Grampa was always planning his next trip, he always had an array of brochures next to his chair. Reading must run in the family and he always had a book at his side with a long list of books to find and books he'd read. He had a wonderful long life, visiting many places all over the world........ Grampa..... Great Grampa a true gentleman with a big heart and a wonderful smile he will be truly missed by us all. Your last journey now......rest in peace. Love you forever.❤ Jane, Ian,Tom, Jack and Katie xxx
